A simple concept to evoke a sense of Japanese craftsmanship

The concept was inspired by the now demolished wing of the Hotel Okura in Tokyo, an ode to sublime Japanese craftsmanship. Custom-made timber tiles with signature motifs, ephemeral origami lights (made by a local artisan) and hand-painted tiles reinforce the design intent.
